Actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has been crowned Nigeria’s biggest YouTube content creator for 2025, following the release of Google’s official ranking of top-performing channels in the country.
The award was presented at Google’s office in Ikoyi, Lagos, during an event tagged “An Afternoon With YouTube”, which also featured the unveiling of Nigeria’s Top Trending Lists and the new YouTube Recap.

In videos circulating online, Oboli was seen receiving a Top Creator Channel 2025 plaque, confirming her dominance on the platform this year.
Her success is largely driven by the outstanding performance of her YouTube channel, Omoni Oboli TV, which released several hit films that resonated strongly with viewers in Nigeria and across the diaspora.
One of the biggest contributors to her ranking was the romantic drama Love in Every Word, which reportedly amassed about 31 million views in 2025 alone. Its sequel, Love in Every Word 2, also pulled impressive numbers, crossing an estimated 18 million views.
Other popular titles such as After a Night in July, Chess, A Night With Mr. Daniels, and The Perfect Lie further boosted her total watch time and engagement.
Industry watchers say Oboli’s consistent storytelling, emotional depth, and understanding of digital audiences have positioned her as a leading force in Nollywood’s online expansion.
“This recognition reflects how powerful digital storytelling has become for Nollywood,” a Google representative said during the event.

Notably, Nollywood creators claimed nine positions, with Brain Jotter standing out as the only comedian on the list, highlighting the growing dominance of movie-driven channels on YouTube Nigeria.
Google, the owner of YouTube, confirmed the rankings in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The 2025 rankings underline a major shift in Nigeria’s entertainment space, as filmmakers increasingly use YouTube as a primary distribution platform, reaching millions without traditional cinema or TV networks.
