Omotola Jalade Explains Her Periodic Breaks from Nollywood

Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, widely known as Omosexy, has finally addressed her periodic absences from the movie industry. The 46-year-old actress responded to curious fans who have been wondering why she steps away from her acting career at times.

In a post on her Instagram page, Omotola explained that she intentionally takes breaks to relax and rejuvenate after years of continuous work.

“I know many don’t understand why I take time off movies for a few years and then come back again,” she wrote. “I’ve seen fans asking when I’ll return to the screen, but when you’ve been working since age 15 like I have, you’ll understand the need to relax, relive, relearn, and recharge. Who gets it and who’s following?”

Omotola Jalade also shared that she visited Nigeria in December last year and left in March after filming two movies in February.

It’s worth noting that Omosexy began her acting career at just 15 years old and made her Nollywood debut as the leading actress in the 1995 film “Venom of Justice.”
