Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has spoken publicly for the first time about undergoing leg surgery following a long period of persistent pain.
In a video shared on her Instagram account on Tuesday, the actress gave fans a glimpse into her medical journey, including scenes from the surgical procedure and her road to recovery.
Dada explained that she lived with the pain quietly for a considerable time, continuing to appear on film sets and in public while struggling privately. She eventually decided to have surgery when the discomfort began interfering with her daily life and mobility.

“Sometimes, we carry our pain so quietly that the world celebrates us without realizing the weight we bear behind the scenes,” she shared in the emotional caption.
“I had been dealing with leg pain for so long, yet I continued to show up, walk through sets, and smile through moments—but deep down, I was weathering a storm.”
She described the surgery as a difficult but necessary choice, driven by the fear of losing control over everyday actions many take for granted.
“The thought of losing control over the simple things we often take for granted—walking, using the bathroom, moving freely—was humbling.
But God… He held me. I’m still healing, but my healing is beautiful.”
The actress also took time to appreciate her doctors for their expertise and her loved ones for their unwavering support throughout her recovery.
“To my doctors, thank you for your skill and patience. To my friends who visited, called, messaged, and showed love in various ways—thank you.
To my family, your strength became my own.”
In a message of compassion, she offered words of solidarity to anyone silently going through personal struggles.
“And to anyone experiencing private pain: I see you. I feel you. I pray healing finds you.
