Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressive Congress has been declared winner of the governorship elections in Ondo state by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Akeredolu emerged winner after defeating Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with almost a hundred thousand votes.

Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress polled a total of 292,830 votes against Eyitayo Jegede and the Peoples Democratic Party’s rival 195,791 votes.
