Reports have emerged of a heavy shooting between supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and their People’s Democratic Party (PDP) counterparts.

Sources say the clash which took place on Sunday morning is said to be a reprisal attack over the killing of an APC member in Oba Nla area of Akure the previous (Saturday) night.

The heavy shooting took place along Oba Adeshida road in Akure, Ondo State capital as the clash between supporters of the PDP and APC escalated.

Several persons sustained injuries and many vehicles were vandalised in the clash as well. The clash had also spread to the Erakhale.

As at the time of filing this report, motorists have stopped plying the Oba Adeshida road.
