Ondo Guber: INEC Declares Aiyedatiwa Winner

Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been declared the winner of the Saturday’s governorship election, sweeping all 18 local government areas in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially returned him as the winner after he secured a commanding victory over his main opponent, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In the final result announced on Sunday at the State Collation Centre in Akure, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, the State Returning Officer, confirmed that Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled a total of 366,781 votes. This far surpassed the 117,845 votes garnered by Ajayi.

“That Aiyedatiwa Lucky Orimisan of APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby returned elected,” Prof. Akinwumi declared, affirming the victory.
