It was gathered that the rice traders who were conveying imported rice to Samagu from Abeokuta ran into Customs operatives from the Federal Operations Unit Ikeja, who intercepted the product.

According to investigations, it  was discovered that  there was a resistance from some hoodlums allegedly working with the suspected smugglers, leading to a crossfire with the security operatives.

Among those who sustained bullet, injuries are three Customs officers and a soldier.

When contacted, the spokesman of the Federal Operations Unit, Theophilus Duniya, described the development as a mob attack on the customs officers by hoodlums who he said were working with smugglers.

Also, different  citizens of the states has  been reacting to the irregularities by agency. This is a lot to talk about after the incident that happened late last year.

This year again, another clash already started. This pandemonium and gridlock occurred along Kobape road in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital as custom officers reportedly killed one of the smugglers.

The corpse was displayed at the front gate of the entrance into the executive Governors Office, Prince Dapo Abiodun in Oke Mosan for display where dangerous weapons were put up for protests on the dead smugglers by his colleague.

These team of customs that were responsible for the mayhem along Kobape were reported to have took to their heels. Nothing has changed the situation.

The rampage is still the talk of the town and it seems it would not die up easily unless justice is prevailed.

Already, there is a case on ground since last year. The one that happened in Abeokuta between two famous market. Not to leave out some another case of violence at the boundary areas of Ogun State, the Yews regions.

May the Almighty give us the opportunity to understand and unfold the situation. This would keep our dear state in peace.
