An under-construction storey building collapsed on Sunday in the Idi-Araba area of Mushin, Lagos State, leaving an undetermined number of people trapped beneath the rubble.
According to PUNCH Online, the incident occurred in the afternoon and immediately drew emergency responders to the scene.
Shakiru Amodu, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, confirmed the incident and disclosed that one person had been pulled from the debris while efforts to rescue others were ongoing.

“A male adult has been rescued while efforts are ongoing to rescue other victims trapped under the rubble,” Amodu stated.
He further explained that the collapsed structure was still under construction and had only reached a single-storey level at the time of the incident.
Rescue operations continued late into the evening as emergency officials worked to save those still believed to be trapped.
