The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has protested against the alleged high-handedness of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Agboola, over his unilateral decision to change the university’s laws.
The protest, led by SSANU Chairman, Dr Abiodun Lamina, was sparked by the VC’s alleged attempt to alter the laws governing congregation elections into the university’s senate and other standing committees.
The union accused the VC of introducing “draconian” rules that would exclude non-teaching staff from participating in the elections.

Lamina stated, “The reason for this protest is because our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Agboola, has refused to listen to our pleas over the illegal clauses he just introduced into the laws of the University. We have written several letters to him, urging him to follow due process, but he insists that nobody can stop him.”
The VC, however, claimed that the matter had been resolved and that he had not changed or flouted any university edict.
He stated, “We have resolved the matter. Be rest assured, I have not changed or flouted any provision of the edict of the University.”
