The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has announced the indefinite shut down of the OPM free specialist hospital situated in Aluu community, Rivers state.
The popular cleric who spoke with a heavy heart, made the disclosure during a brief address with newsmen at his residence on Saturday.

Apostle Chinyere stated that the regrettable decision to shutdown the Aluu free specialist hospital became necessary following the frequent levies placed on the hospital by the community.

He disclosed that the closure of the hospital will take effect from Sunday, July 5th.
According to the clergy, the centre has saved numerous lives for free and without charge.
Sources gathered reveal that all forms of medical services are rendered free of charge by the center. From services rendered to expectant mothers like registration, ante natal, scan, delivery, drugs and even post natal services are delivered for free at the centre without discrimination.
Apostle Chinyere wondered why Aluu community, who have been major beneficiaries of all humanitarian projects by the ministry would place heavy levies for the ministry to pay.
He stated that the ministry has so far cited 12 OPM free estates, a free specialist hospital and one of the biggest free skills acquisition centers in Nigeria, all in Aluu community.
The clergy reiterated that all services rendered by these facilities are free of charge to the community, courtesy of the ministry.
While speaking on the running expense levels of the facilities, Apostle Chinhere from buying of drugs, paying of workers as well as buying of delivery items in the hospital which has high sophisticated equipments are funded by the church.
Also, the generators in the free hospital are run everyday with a high cost of diesel daily.
When quizzed, he revealed that he has met with the leadership of the community to lift the incessant levies but to no avail, as they insist it is a compulsory levy the hospital must pay.
The community’s refusal to consider the ministry has forced Apostle Chinyere to shut down the the specialist hospital.
While demonstrating sympathy for all the expectant mothers who patronize the special hospital for his decision, he advised them to get other hospitals to continue their ante-natal treatments.
He further advised all patients to stop going to the hospital for treatment.
According to the renowned clergy, the free specialist hospital would be moved to a new location that would be friendly to the ministry.
