Embattled erstwhile governor of Abia state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has finally been released from the Kuje Custodial Centre, Abuja the Correctional Centre he was confined to serve a 12-year-long jail term.
Orji Kalu who is the current senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, was sentenced following a court order by the a Federal High Court in Lagos.
However, Justice Mohammad Liman of the Federal High Court in Lagos has now ordered for Senator Kalu to be released on Tuesday.
Orji was convicted for an over corruption and alleged looting of over ₦7 billion while serving has governor of Abia state in December 2019.
He was finally released from his prison sentence early Tuesday evening, June 2.
