Osimhen Beats Gavi, Valverde to Global Soccer Awards

Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has emerged as the best young player of the year 2022.

The goal poacher won the glamorous 2022 Globe Soccer Awards as he was crowned the Emerging Player of The Year award to cap off an excellent performance in the current season.

The award was announced by the organizers via its twitter handle on Thursday.

“Congratulations to Victor Osimhen on winning the 2022 #GlobeSoccer Award for POWER HORSE EMERGING PLAYER OF THE YEAR” Globe Soccer Awards official Twitter handle @Globe_Soccer tweeted.

The prestigious award took place at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on Thursday, three days before the start of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Other finalists included Gavi and Valverde and but the Nigeria international defeated the Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielders.

Other nominees that did not make it to the final three were Hareb Abdullah, Julian Alvarez, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Francisco Conceiçao, Ryan Gravenberch, Josko Gvardiol, Nuno Mendes, Ilaix Moriba, Jamal Musiala, Pedri, Bukaio Saka and Milan star Rafael Leao.

Osimhen has been in stunning form at the Stadio Maradona this season, scoring 10 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.
