Osimhen Grabs N2m After Starring in World Cup Qualifier Against Cape Verde

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has won a N2 million prize following his leading performance in the World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde on Tuesday.

The Napoli striker has been picked out after an impressive display in spite of the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

In the game, the 22-year-old gave Nigeria a four-minute lead as he had opened the scoring just one minute into the game before Stopira found an equalizer for the visitors in the 5th minute.

After the last round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria was seen on top of the group ‘C’ table on 13 points, two points clear of Cape Verde in second.

Osimhen scored four out of Nigeria’s 9 goals in the qualifiers, to enable them book a place in the playoff rounds in Qatar.

That said, two different NFF partners showed appreciation to the former Lille forward.

Osimhen received N1million for the man of the match display with a cheque handed to him by Uaboi Agbebaku, Legal Director/Company Secretary of Nigeria Breweries PLC.

He also grabbed the Most Valuable Player award presented by GAC Motors which was valued at one million naira.

Meanwhile, Osimhen who began his senior career at VfL Wolfsburg in 2017 has scored 10 goals with 5 assists provided out of 19 matches for the Super Eagles with four goals.
