The funeral service of former Head of State Chief Ernest Shonekan is holding at the Cathedral Church Of Christ, Marina here in Lagos.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo leads the Federal Government delegation.
Others in attendance include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Minister of Information Lai Mohammed, Former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

Former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun is also in attendance.
The Lagos State government declared a 13-hour closure of roads leading to Marina, where the funeral is being held.
Chief Shonekan, who led the interim national government from August to November 1993, died on January 11, 2022, at the age of 86.
