INEC Suspends Continous Voters Registration | Daily Report Nigeria

Ahead of the forthcoming Osun state governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Osun State has announced an extension of the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The electoral umpire also disclosed that it would make the PVCs available to every ward across the 31 local government areas in Osun state from Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

The announcement is contained in a statement signed by Oluwaseun Osimosu, Public Affairs Officer, INEC Osun State.

According to the statement: “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Osun State wishes to inform the general public most especially all eligible voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, that they can now collect their PVCs at the Registration Areas (Wards) from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June 2022 between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm daily.

“Prospective voters are to come with their Registration Slip issued during Registration Exercise in exchange for the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

“The Commission wishes to reiterate that collection by proxy is not allowed, please and PVC Collection is FREE.

“The public is therefore enjoined to ensure they use this opportunity to collect their PVCs. No PVC, No Voting.”
