Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar has warned that Daura traditional titles are not for sale but for those who have made meaningful impact and sacrifices for the unity of the nation.
The Emir made the remark while conferring on the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amechi, Dan Amanar Daura (Trusted son of Daura) in his palace at Daura, Katsina State on Saturday.
He said: “I don’t give title because of money.
“The emirate doesn’t collect a dime from anyone before conferring traditional titles. Our title goes to those who have devoted their time and resources to the course of the poor in the society, as well as those who have contributed meaningfully to the development of Daura emirate.”
