Students and residents have expressed their discontentment after a final year student got stabbed in Bayelsa.
According to reports, the final year student, identified as Francis Palowei was a student of the Niger Delta University.

The incident reportedly took place in Amassoma, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, where Francis had gone to a sand dump – a popular relaxation centre in the area whejbsoke youths stabbed him for refusing to give them ‘#150 levy’
Palowei was expected to graduate on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 before the tragedy struck.
The owner of the sand dump does not charged anyone to use the premise, but some youths in the neighborhood usually collect N150 for anyone who wants to use the premises.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Musa Mohammed said the Commissioner of Police, Francis Idu, has deployed additional police manpower to the community to maintain the peace, and a man hunt haa bee launched to catch the killers.
Mohammed said the police had launched a manhunt for the killers.
