The Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) – Nigeria Region, has called on Nigeria security agencies to up their game to contain incessant attacks on innocent and law-abiding citizens.

OSHA made the call while commiserating with the families of the victims who lost their lives in the gruesome killing of worshippers by unknown gunmen at the St Francis Catholic church, Owo, Ondo state last Sunday.

The President of OSHAssociation- Nigeria Region, HRH, Dr, Amb. Olusegun Aderemiz in a condolence message to the Owo Community, the government and people of Ondo State and the country in general, said security intelligence must be deployed to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

According to him: “My heart goes out to the good people of Ondo State, especially the families of the victims, the government and the entire country at large.

“This ugly and gruesome incident should be painstakingly investigated to unravel the criminals behind it to quickly bring them to justice.”

“Local intelligence collections need to be geared towards preventing such incidents.

“The security situation might be worse than we think, and we must upscale our security fits especially in training security personnel as well as ensuring that the nation’s airports, trains, buses, courts, schools, malls, churches, mosques, banks and other public places are provided and equipped with screening machines and CCTV cameras.

“As a matter of urgency, the federal government and the various state governments should promptly act on intelligence reports compiled by the State Security Service and other security agencies as this will not just ensure improved security but will see that lives and properties are not lost to terror attacks.
