Francisco Barajah: Pastor Dies Attempting to Recreate Jesus’ 40-Day Fast

A pastor in Mozambique identified as Francisco Barajah, has died after fasting for 40 days, in an attempt to replicate what the Biblical Jesus Christ did.

Barajah, who founded the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church in the central province of Manica passed away on Wednesday at the hospital in Beira where he was receiving treatment.

It was gathered the clergyman had lost a lot of weight to the point where he could not stand up, bathe or walk after 25 days of fasting.

Days later, at the insistence of relatives and believers, he was taken to a hospital but attempts to get him back to life were unsuccessful.

The pastor, who also worked as a French school teacher, was said to have developed “severe anaemia,” had internal organ damage, and was unable to digest food.

Church members and his neighbors have been unsurprised at the turn of events, due to his extreme weight loss and disfigured body frame prior to his death.
