Pastor Israel Adebayo, the General Overseer of The Beloved Chapel in Agbado, Ogun State, has admitted o raping 14-year-old minor.
Pastor Israel confessed to defiling the victim, who is a member of the church’s choir.
He however, said he did not know how it the incident happened while confessing to the police.

The 38-year-old clergyman was arrested by the police following a report by the victim’s mother at the Agbado Divisional Police Headquarters.
Adebayo, who is the head of the church situated at 9, Iyaniwura street, off Owonikoko Street Agbado, is said to have lured the minor into his room, before forcefully having carnal knowledge of her.
According to the mother, the incident happened while she was away to seek medical attention over an ailment.
Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the pastor upon interrogation “admitted defiling the victim,” even as he “pleaded for forgiveness”.
“According to him, his family and that of the victim are so close, but he didn’t know how and why such a thing happened to him,” Oyeyemi quoted him as saying.
