Paulo Okoye Claims Rema Is Overpricing Himself

Rema

Music executive Paulo Okoye recently suggested that afrobeats star Rema may be overpricing himself in the industry. In a conversation with media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, Paulo acknowledged Rema’s status as a Gen Z superstar and a major face of African music on the global stage, but he expressed concerns about the singer’s pricing strategy.

“Rema is on another level; the Western world sees him as they see American artists,” Paulo said. “But the issue right now is that he might be overpricing himself. To justify his current price tag, he needs to do more shows and build a larger fanbase.”

Paulo also mentioned that the earnings of Rema and fellow artist Asake have seen a decline. He noted that while both artists used to command fees of $4 million to $5 million, their earnings have dropped to $2 million to $3 million in 2023 and 2024.
