The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a scathing reaction to the All Progressives Congress (APC) over its public endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
In a statement signed by Haliru Andi, the PDP publicity secretary in Zamfara, the party said the endorsement was nothing short of political comedy and a mockery of the suffering masses.

According to the PDP, it is “shocking and embarrassing” that any group would openly support a second term for a president whose administration has brought what they described as unprecedented economic pain to Nigerians.
“How can anyone endorse a President whose policies have led to widespread hunger, rising unemployment, insecurity, poverty, and unbearable cost of living?” the party queried.
The statement added that the endorsement exposes APC leaders in Zamfara as selfish politicians who have lost touch with the reality of people struggling to survive daily.
“It is laughable that the same leaders who contributed to the collapse of Zamfara and Nigeria now want to market a failed leadership as a second chance to the masses they abandoned,” PDP said.
According to them, gatherings of APC leaders are never intended to improve citizens’ welfare but only serve as avenues for political deals, sharing positions and trying to stay relevant.
The party insisted that under Tinubu and the APC, the economy has worsened, insecurity persists, and banditry continues to claim lives, especially in the North-West.
“The prices of food and essential goods rise daily while killings and kidnappings remain rampant. Nigeria has never seen this level of hardship,” the statement notes.
The PDP declared that Nigerians are now more aware and will not be swayed by “staged endorsements or empty declarations stitched together for political survival.”

The party said 2027 will mark the end of “propaganda politics,” insisting that citizens are ready to reject the APC at the polls.
“Zamfara and Nigeria deserve better. The future is with the PDP, a party with a clear vision to rebuild the economy, restore security, and return hope to Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
