Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said he has not resigned and has no plans to resign.
Ayu noted that he will not resign because he was given a four-year mandate to lead the party.
Recall that the camp of Governor Nyesom Wike if Rivers State had insisted on the resignation of Ayu as a major condition to support Atiku in the 2023 presidential poll.

However, a tweet by Ayu’s Media Aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam, on Monday poured cold water on the calls for Ayu to resign.
Imono-Tswam insisted that the PDP National Chairman has no plans to resign his position.
The tweet reads;
“The PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyiochia Ayu, has not resigned and has no plan of resigning.
“For clarity and emphasis, he was elected for a tenure of four years.”
In another development Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State have accused some elders of the State of ganging up against him.
According to the him, the elders ganged up against him because they did not scale through the primary to be the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
