The governors expressed relief over the resolution of the protests and affirmed citizens’ right to peaceful protests.

They commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives and called for a review of the party congress outcome to restore Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s leadership role.

The communique read in part, “The Forum reiterates that peaceful protests are the inalienable rights of citizens… We call on Mr. President to show statesmanship by restraining his officials from blame games.”

The governors criticized the Federal Government for allegedly using blackmail instead of addressing key issues and urged President Bola Tinubu to avoid blame games.
