Wike’s camp insists on no micro-zoning, demands North-Central retains chairmanship slot
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has warned loyalists of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to stop undermining the unity of the opposition party.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Mohammed reacted to the conditions issued by a group calling itself Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP, which aligned with Wike’s faction.
The group demanded that the position of PDP National Chairman remain in the North-Central and insisted there must be “no form of micro-zoning” ahead of the party’s convention.
But the Bauchi governor dismissed their stance as a ploy to destabilise the PDP. “We cannot continue to keep quiet and allow people to take us to the slaughterhouse.
“We are not cowards and we are not afraid of anybody. We are capable of navigating this party beyond the shenanigans, beyond the arrogance and impunity of some people.”Mohammed said.

Backing the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) and the Convention Committee, Mohammed declared: “The pedigree and capacity of the Convention Committee leadership is never in doubt because they have done it before, and we believe they will do it very well. We appreciate the sacrifice the NWC is making, but certainly time has come when we must flex our muscles.”
The governor stressed that discipline must return to the party. “We will no longer allow or tolerate anybody to take us for granted. It has to stop. Enough is enough. We are not going to tolerate any longer,” he warned.
