PDP Officially Releases Timetable for 2025 Zonal Congresses

Confusion as Court Orders PDP to Replace National Secretary

•New Leadership Set to Emerge as Party Gears Up for Upcoming Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially released its timetable for the zonal congresses slated for 2025, marking a significant step toward revitalizing its leadership structure across Nigeria.

The announcement was made on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, following a critical meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja.

In a statement, Ologunagba emphasized the importance of these congresses, which will facilitate the election of new Zonal Working Committees (ZWCs) and National Ex-officio members across the South-South, South-East, South-West, North-Central, and North-East zones.

“This is a pivotal moment for the PDP as we prepare to strengthen our party and enhance our unity ahead of future elections,” he stated.

The timetable outlines key activities leading up to the congresses:

Sale of Forms: November 18, 2024 – December 18, 2024

Submission Deadline: January 17, 2025

Screening of Aspirants: January 25, 2025

Screening Appeals: February 1, 2025

Publication of Cleared Aspirants: February 12, 2025

Publication of Delegate Lists: February 13, 2025

The congresses will take place on the following dates:

North-East, South-East, and South-South: February 22, 2025

North-Central and South-West: March 22, 2025

Ologunagba reiterated the need for collaboration among all party members, urging them to connect with the Directorate of Organization and Mobilization for details on fees and procedures.

“Unity among all PDP leaders, stakeholders, and members is crucial as we work towards the advancement of our party,” he added.
