Lagos PDP spokesman Christopher Odianarewo says APC should focus on fixing economic challenges instead of attacking the opposition.

PDP insists the party is restructuring and preparing for future elections, dismissing claims of political irrelevance.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over what it described as poor governance and worsening economic hardship facing residents.
The opposition party made the remarks in a statement issued by its Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Christopher Odianarewo, while reacting to comments by the APC spokesperson in the state, Seye Oladejo.
According to the PDP, the APC’s criticism of the opposition is misplaced, stressing that the ruling party should instead focus on tackling the economic difficulties affecting Nigerians, particularly residents of Lagos State.

The party argued that the APC-led administration currently presides over what it described as one of the most difficult economic periods in Nigeria’s history.

The PDP further accused the ruling party of worsening living conditions through policies that it claimed have increased poverty levels and raised the cost of living for ordinary Nigerians.
It also alleged that public funds were poorly managed while key infrastructure across the state continued to deteriorate.
Highlighting the state of road infrastructure and financial pressures faced by residents, the PDP said the situation reflects what it called ineffective governance in the state.
“If the APC had spent half the energy it uses monitoring the PDP on actual governance, our roads would not have become death traps and many young people would not be leaving the country in search of better opportunities,” the statement said.
The party also rejected claims that it has become politically irrelevant, maintaining that it is reorganising and strengthening its internal structures ahead of future political contests.
“The PDP is not expiring; it is reinventing and refining itself to rescue Nigerians from the stranglehold of the APC,” Odianarewo added.
