PDP Suspends Senator Suswam, Others Over 'Insubordination' | Daily Report Nigeria

 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has suspended former Governor Gabriel Suswam and four others for insubordination. The party also suspended the chairmen of eight local government areas.

According to the state Publicity Secretary, Bemgba Iortyom, the affected persons were summoned to appear before the State Working Committee (SWC) on charges of gross misconduct and anti-party activities.

However, they refused to appear, prompting the suspension.

Iortyom said, “Their unfortunate conduct contravenes Section 58 of the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (as Amended in 2017) and accordingly, they have been suspended from the party for a period of one (1) month.”
