The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has explained why he visited Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike after the party’s primary election.

Atiku, after gathering votes of 371 delegates was declared the winner of the party’s primary on Saturday.

The Waziri of Adamawa visited Wike in his Abuja residence for a crucial fence-mending meeting.

Atiku said his visit to the governor was to ensure that every stakeholder was brought on board to boost PDP’s chances of winning the 2023 presidential election.

According to him: “In continuation of my commitment to bring everyone on board in ensuring that the PDP stands as one united party, earlier today, I visited His Excellency Gov Nyseom (sic) Wike at his Abuja residence. This is a continuous process.”
