Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has cast doubt on Jack Grealish’s availability for their Premier League opener against Chelsea.
Grealish picked up a knock during training before the Community Shield match against Manchester United and was left out of that game at Wembley.
Pep Guardiola said Grealish had been experiencing discomfort, particularly on Friday, but the issue didn’t seem serious enough to warrant immediate concern.

He explained, “It’s a setback, but we didn’t want to take any risks. If he’s not ready for Chelsea, he should be fit for the Ipswich Town match. It’s better to be cautious now than face a longer injury later.”
With Grealish potentially sidelined, Jeremy Doku and new £33 million signing Savinho are expected to compete for his spot on the left wing.
