Hon. Bekes Peretonbofa, a leading contender for the Seimbiri kingship stool, has secured widespread endorsement from key communities across the kingdom, strengthening his position ahead of the selection process.
The endorsements followed a two-day consultation and campaign tour during which Peretonbofa visited several communities, including Edegbene, Enekorogha, Okpokunou, and Dunuogusu. Community leaders and stakeholders in these areas publicly declared their support, citing his leadership qualities, accessibility, and long-standing commitment to the development of Seimbiri.
Speaking during the tour, Peretonbofa expressed appreciation for the show of confidence, describing the endorsements as both humbling and a call to greater responsibility.

“I am deeply honoured by the trust and support shown by our people across the kingdom,” he said. “This is not just about me, but about the collective future of Seimbiri. If given the opportunity to serve, I will prioritise unity, peace, and sustainable development for all our communities.”
In Edegbene, his ancestral home, elders described him as a worthy son of the soil with a clear understanding of the kingdom’s history and present needs. One community leader noted that “his exposure, experience in public service, and connection to the grassroots make him well suited for the stool at this time.”
Leaders in Enekorogha also echoed similar sentiments, highlighting his consultative approach and willingness to engage widely before taking decisions. “We need a king who listens and carries everyone along. From what we have seen, Hon. Peretonbofa has demonstrated that quality,” a youth representative stated.
At Okpokunou and Dunuogusu, stakeholders pointed to his track record of community engagement and advocacy, adding that his emergence would foster stronger unity within the kingdom.
A senior elder remarked, “This endorsement is based on merit. We believe he can bridge divides and attract development to Seimbiri.”
Peretonbofa concluded his tour with a renewed appeal for peaceful conduct among all contenders and their supporters, urging the people of Seimbiri to place the kingdom’s unity above individual ambitions.
“We must approach this process with dignity and respect for our traditions,” he said. “At the end of the day, the goal is a stronger and more united Seimbiri,” he added.
The process for the emergence of the next occupant of the Seimbiri kingship stool is expected to continue in the coming weeks.
