Nigerian singer and songwriter Peruzzi responded to a question about whether he was paid in used clothes for his songwriting work with fellow artist Davido.
In a recent chat on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast with Isbae U, Peruzzi was asked about a long-standing rumor that Davido compensated him for his songwriting contributions by giving him his old clothes.
The rumor has persisted for years, suggesting that Peruzzi received previously worn clothing from Davido as a form of payment. While these claims might sound unlikely, they’ve garnered considerable attention and discussion.

“Is it true that when you write Davido’s songs, he pays you with ‘take this top and pants, I wore it once’?” Isbae U asked.
Peruzzi laughed and admitted that it had happened before, but clarified that it’s no longer the case. “I’m not going to lie, I used to do that, but not anymore,” he said.
Isbae U also asked Peruzzi why he seems to trend more on Twitter when he’s being sarcastic than when he releases new music. Peruzzi explained that people seem to enjoy his sarcastic remarks.
Peruzzi is known for his songwriting collaborations with Davido, having written or co-written many of Davido’s songs, showcasing his significant influence in the music industry.
