Peseiro Speaks on Potential Sack After Loss to Guinea-Bissau

1 Min Read

Nigeria coach, Jose Peseiro has come out to say he would be surprised if the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, decides to sack him following a 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles lost to the Wild Dogs in front of their fans in Abuja on Friday, following a first-half goal from Mama Balde.

The win took the Djurtus to lead the Group with seven points, while the Eagles dropped to second place with six points.

Asked if he will be shocked about being sacked following Nigeria’s loss Peseiro said;

“I would be surprised if I’m sacked now.

“In today’s game in the first 30 minutes, we created chances, but the likes of Osimhen, Chukwueze, and Ndidi could not score.

“But I believe my team played better than the results reflect, so for me, it’s a joke to talk about sacking me.”
