Popular socialite and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Reno Omokri has claimed that Peter Obi of the Labour Party(LP) helped President Bola Tinubu’s victory during the general election.
Omokri made the claim in a recent post on his Twitter page.
The well-known social commentator, expressed anger saying Tinubu assumed the presidency of Nigeria on May 30, 2022, the same day Obi emerged victorious in the LP primary election.
The embittered Omokri wondered how a divided opposition could defeat the manipulative machine of the Congress of All Progressives (APC) in 2023 if a united front failed to do so in 2019.

He said:
“This is precisely what I privately conveyed to Obi and publicly explained to Obidients. It’s a matter of common sense. Obidients become emotionally charged, hurling insults without attempting to understand others’ perspectives. Elections are akin to warfare; you don’t act on your desires but do whatever it takes to win.”
According to him, had the PDP “fielded” the ticket, Wike would not have formed the 5-G group, and no amount of manipulation could have thwarted the party’s victory.

He said:
“If the Peoples Democratic Party had fielded that ticket, Wike wouldn’t have possessed the moral authority to maintain his stance with the G-5, thus avoiding open opposition. No amount of rigging could have thwarted our victory. We didn’t receive money from Obi; in fact, we funded our efforts. He is alive.”
It was learnt that the party’s intents were cut short when they unexpectedly witnessed Obi’s televised departure from the PDP, followed by his subsequent joining the LP three days later.
The Ex-political Aide said:
“The day Tinubu won the election was not February 25, 2023. Tinubu became president on May 30, 2022, the day Obi secured the Labor Party presidential primary.”
Omokri further warned that if the courts failed to overturn the “dubious election” and Christians complain of marginalisation for years to come, they will regret it.
