- Young Plateau man, Nengak, allegedly killed by mob in Lagos
- Accused of sleeping with employer’s wife for months
- CCTV reportedly captured affair before attack
- Family seeks justice as body remains in mortuary
A young man from Plateau State, simply known as Nengak, has reportedly been beaten to death in Lagos after he was allegedly caught having an affair with his employer’s wife. The shocking incident has thrown friends and relatives into pain as questions continue to rise regarding justice, accountability and the handling of his remains.
According to details shared by his close friend, Bitrus Idi, the deceased worked as a security guard and domestic helper for a wealthy household in Victoria Garden City, Lagos. Though hired as a security man, Idi explained that Nengak took on almost every domestic duty, from cooking meals, washing cars, to escorting the family’s children to school.

Idi described him as “young, strong, and extremely hardworking”, adding that his employer was often out of the country, leaving his wife at home for long periods.
“From what I heard, madam developed interest in him,” Idi said. “She began calling him to her room more often, and before long, they were already involved. It continued like that for months.”
Their affair allegedly came to light after the husband installed CCTV cameras following rumours that his wife was engaging romantically with the houseboy. On the day of the attack, the employer reportedly pretended to travel, but instead returned with men believed to be street boys who then stormed the house.

Idi claims that Nengak was caught in the bedroom and beaten until he died.
He said the body has remained in the mortuary, with no formal case filed because “there is nobody to stand for him.”
“Police are asking us to pay for autopsy and paperwork. We are helpless,” he lamented.
The incident has left his loved ones calling for investigation, legal action and proper protection of domestic workers who often work silently behind closed doors in Nigerian homes.
