Police Apprehend Gun Runners, Armed Robbers in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended three suspected gun runners and recovered a substantial cache of live ammunition in Dutsinma town.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Ahmed Mohammed Kabir, Mannir Musa, and Aliyu Iliya were arrested on August 29, 2024.

According to ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the Command’s Spokesman, the suspects were caught attempting to deliver 740 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition to suspected armed bandits in Yauni forest, Ummadau village.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects received the ammunition from Nasarawa State and were to deliver it to Harisu, a notorious armed bandits’ kingpin currently on the run.

The trio has confessed to their involvement and implicated Harisu as the mastermind.

In a related development, the police have arrested three suspects – Abubakar Ibrahim, Abdullahi Nafi’u, and Adam Musa – in connection with a suspected case of armed robbery at Baure LGA of Katsina State.

It was said that the suspects were arrested on August 27, 2024, after they robbed one Ukashatu Isah of his mobile phones and transferred N6 million from his bank account using the stolen phones.

Police revealed that the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
