Police Arrest 21-Year-Old UNILAG Undergraduate For Killing Super TV CEO | Daily Report Nigeria

A 21-year-old undergraduate of the University of Lagos simply identified as Chidinma, has been arrested for allegedly killing Super TV CEO, Usifo Ataga.

Chidinma on Thursday, narrated how she stabbed her lover to death in the Lekki area of Lagos State, following an argument.

She was paraded at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja by the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.

According to Odumosu, Chidinma was arrested at her parents’ residence in the Yaba area of the state on Wednesday night.

Chidinma, a 300-level student of Mass Communication, narrated she and Ataga had been in a romantic relationship for about four months before the ugly incident.

According to the suspect, she and Ataga were “having fun” when an argument broke out between them, and she stabbed him twice.

She further disclosed that after stabbing the late CEO, she withdrew N380,000 from his account using his ATM card.

Chidinma allegedly continued to withdraw money from Ataga’s account and even called GTBank, requesting for to change the details of the bank account.

Ataga was an amateur boxer, hence many quarters believe he was drugged before been stabbed.

He was found with multiple stab wounds indicating he must have been tortured first.

He was killed a day to his birthday in an airbnb apartment he rented to stay with the girl.

Ataga’s business colleagues said he was killed he was set to announce one of the biggest media projects in Nigeria.

While the owner of the rented apartment where the tragic incident took place had been arrested, Odumosu also said Ataga’s account had been blocked to prevent further withdrawals from it by those taking advantage of his untimely death to deplete the account.
