Police Arrest 3 Kidnappers, Recover Ransom in Niger

Niger Police Command has nabbed three suspects who were allegedly involved in abduction.

The suspects were identified as Mohamed Aliyu, Abubakar and Aliyu Abubakar.

Part of the ransom of 100,000 naira has been gotten back from the alleged kidnappers.

The arrest followed the raid by a team of police personnel and members of a vigilante group at the kidnapper’s den.

The raid in Manini, Isana and Etere forest in Nasko LGA was subsequent to mobilization of the team of security agents.

The Divisional Police Officer Nasko, marshalled the security officers as revealed by the State Police commissioner, Mr Monday Kuryas whose statement reads;

“The suspects confessed to have kidnapped one Alhaji Mohammed Bariki of Magaman Daji village, Nasko LGA where they collected N5 million ransom and one Usman Maiyana of Ibana village Nasko Local Government Area and they collected N3 million as ransom.”

Mr Monday also disclosed the fact of deployment of an anti-kidnap team to the area by the command.

He said the squad will guarantee arrest of the rest of the kidnappers and also assertain recovery of their arms.

The CoP has however, urged the generality of the public to cooperate with and support the police with vital and reliable information with which they can arrest all other evil doers.
