Police Arrest Kidnappers, Armed Robbers In Borno | Daily Report Nigeria

The police force in Borno State have arrested a group of armed robbers a f kidnappers in the state.

According to reports, the suspects were said to have been notorious for terrorizing the residents of Magumeri and Konduga Local Government Areas of the state.

Confirming the arrest, the Police PRO, ASP Nahum Daso said the command also recovered exhibits from them, which also include the sum of ₦2,637,000 which was said to have been extorted from villagers under the guise of tax collection.

 

The statement reads,

On 25th October 2024, following a credible tip-off, the Command Crack Squad coordinated a covert operation in Chingowa Village, Konduga LGA, and arrested the following suspects: Modu Bindimi, male, 26 years; Koso Modu Gana, male, 24 years; Kassim Bulama, male, 27 years; Isah Muhammed, male, 21 years; Zarami Fantami, male, 22 years; and Modu Bunu, male, 24 years. They were found in possession of one pump-action gun, one live cartridge, and ₦2,637,000 in cash.

Investigation revealed that the syndicate is responsible for armed robbery and kidnapping in Magumeri and Konduga LGAs, as well as extorting money from villages, purportedly as a tax to spare them from criminal operations.”

The suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged in court following discreet investigation,” the statement added.

 

The Commissioner of Police, CP ML Yusufu, reaffirms the Command’s commitment to maintaining public safety and security and appeals to members of the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency contacts, including 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.” he added
