Operatives of Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers along Issele-Azagba/Ogwashi-Uku road.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, September 7, said the robbery suspects were arrested based on credible information.
“On the 5/09/2022 at about 1125hrs, operatives attached to Eagle-Net Special Squad while on visibility patrol along Issele-Azagba/Ogwashi-Uku road, acting on credible information intercepted a tricycle (Keke) with Delta State Commercial colour Reg. No. AWK 941 QC and tag No. DT/CT/10550B driven by one Anthony Onyekaba ‘m’ of No. 223 Asei Quarters Azagba Ogwashi-Uku with four occupants,” the statement read.

“After a thorough search, one Eze Paul ‘m’ 27yrs of Okofia and Henry Dukkwu of Ugbetiti ‘m’ 28yrs both of Issele-Azagba in Aniocha North LGA were arrested with one (1) locally made double barrel Pistol with two live cartridges concealed in a bag, one (1) techno phone, one (1) Infinix phone, one (1) OPPO phone, one (1) APPO phone, and the cash sum of (N5,750) were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing,”
In another development, on September 1, 2022, operatives attached to Special Anti-Cult Unit (SACU) raided a black spot at Owa-Oyibo in Ika North East LGA.
The raid carried out by the operatives led to the arrest of two drug dealers, one Mrs. Ogala Juliet ‘f’ 42yrs and one Ifeadi Macaulay ‘m’ 26yrs.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include two bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, 20 cans of liquid substances suspected to be “monkey tail”. Investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, in the Command’s resolve to fight the menace caused by Indian hemp/ controlled drugs dealers, the Commissioner of Police has ordered that continuous raids be carried out by DPOs in their area of responsibility.
The CP also admonished the youths to stay away from these substances capable of destroying their lives.
