The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, disclosed the arrests in a statement released on Saturday, noting that a firearm, live ammunition, and various items were recovered from the suspects.

According to her, intelligence reports revealed that some expelled students and school dropouts had formed criminal gangs operating in the state, engaging in cultism, rape, extortion, cybercrime, and other illicit activities.

Items recovered during the operation include one English Beretta pistol with three rounds of 9mm live ammunition, one laptop, two Android phones, an MTN internet router, several suspected drug mixtures, and three copies of power-of-attorney suspected to be stolen.

John further disclosed that preliminary investigations have identified two gang leaders—Etieno Gideon James and another suspect known as “Ale”—both of whom are currently on the run.

She confirmed that investigations are ongoing and assured that efforts are being intensified to arrest the remaining suspects at large.
