Police Arrests 21 Persons for Murder of 7 Witches in Adamawa | Daily Report Nigeria

Adamawa Police have nabbed 21 suspects for assassination of 7 who they allegedly claimed have witchcraft in a village in Adamawa.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Aliyu Adamu confirmed the arrest on Monday when he said that the case is under investigation and peace restored in the area.

He confirmed the arrest at a news conference in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa.

The suspects were captured from Dasin Bwate, Fufore Local Government Area, of the state.

The arrest was an upshot of amiable working relationship existing between the command and other sister-agencies, hunters and vigilantes.

Adamu in his statement: “I want to state that the officers have keyed into the zero tolerance for corruption drive, which has reduced tremendously.”

Adamu said: “These sacrifices yielded positive result, such as the arrest of 21 suspects in connection with the recent killing of seven persons in Dasin Bwate.”

Correspondingly, the command had bumped and arrested over 400 radical armed Shilla Boys, over terrorism of Yola and environs.

The suspects were also charged and tried accordingly.

Over 121 kidnappers had also been captured from across the state and some kidnapped victims delivered. Adamu further explained.

“With the enactment of the state VAPP (Violence Against Persons Prohibition) Act, the Command prosecuted over 21 for gender-based violence offences across the state and rescued some rape victims.”

“Also, the Command successful cracked and apprehended some notorious highway robbers, that were terrorising Numan-Gombe road, Numan –Jalingo road and Ngurore–Mayo Belwa road.” He added.

He finally urged all members of the public to help with vital and reliable information that would contribute to the effective discharge of their duty.
