“This matter has been taken up by the FHQ and the CP Bayelsa, CP Francis Idu. The men have been identified. We will continue to act on it tomorrow Monday for further investigation. The act is unacceptable and condemned,” Adejobi said.

Kelechi Isaac narrated his ordeal to Sahara Reporters, stating that he was extorted by the policemen at gunpoint. “I was beaten and handcuffed, and they threatened to kill me if I didn’t open my phone. I had to transfer ₦3 million to them to save my life,” he said.

Isaac has printed his account statements and provided the account details of the policemen who extorted him. He has also consulted a lawyer and written to the Police Public Relations Officer in Bayelsa State, seeking justice and a refund.

“I want justice. I want my money returned to me because it is for my project. I want justice. Let the policemen who did this to me be identified so that other Nigerians won’t become their victims,” Isaac said.
