Police Denies Viral ‘Wanted’ Poster of Iyabo Ojo

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has refuted a viral social media post claiming that Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo was wanted by the Office of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit.

The Force described the circulating notice as “false, misleading, and not issued by the Force.”

In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the NPF clarified that the poster did not come from the Force and was never shared on any of its official channels.

The statement reads:

“FAKE NEWS ALERT! This ‘WANTED’ poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading & was never posted on any official NPF platform. Disregard & stop spreading fake news.”

The NPF further urged the public to rely only on official communication channels when verifying news, to avoid being misled by false information.

“Verify only from official NPF channels,” the statement emphasized.
