A minimum of three participants of the ‘End EFCC’ protest in Delta State have died after police operatives fired shot at the protesters.

Daily Report earlier reported that the victims were been left with life-threatening injuries following a clash with police operatives in Ughelli.

The victims were among youths who took to the East-West Road to protest the incessant raids by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Tuesday.

The protesters blocked a section of the road with wooden materials and also burnt tyres, while lamenting over the activities of EFCC operatives.

The protest which started around 11am also saw the youths set ablaze over twenty vehicles, including trucks loaded with granites.

The development is coming just a couple of days after the EFCC arrested almost 100 youths in Warri and environs over suspected cybercrime activities.

The Delta State Police Command was yet to comment on the incident as of press time.
