Men of the Delta State Police Command have neutralized members of a gang of kidnappers in the state.
According to reports, the force, following credible intelligence stormed the Kidnappers den, and were met with a fierce gun battle.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Bright Edafe in a statement released on Sunday, April 27 in the Delta State capital said the suspects are known for terrorizing Ubulu-Uku, Issele-Uku, Issele-Asagba and surrounding areas of Delta State.
The PPRO added that the officers stormed one of their hideouts in Agu-Amawbia forest, Anambra State.
He said,
“Investigation was extended to another of the criminals’ hideouts in a forest between Issele-Asagba and Otulu, where one Bellow Abubakar and his gang members were waiting in ambush.
On sighting the policemen, the suspected kidnappers attacked them in a fierce gun battle but the operatives, who were aware of the battle ahead reciprocated in like manner.
“The suspects could not withstand the firepower of the operatives, as they ran in different directions with various degrees of bullet injuries.
“Five of the suspects, including the said bellow Abubakar, who could not escape due to severity of their injuries, were taken to the hospital but they were confirmed dead”
Edafe added that one Ak-47 rifle, and 132 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects, a e efforts are being made to apprehend the injured and fleeing gang members.

The gunmen were said to have attacked and abducted the travellers while on a journey in the state.
