Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three suspects for forcefully initiating a young girl into their cult group.
The suspects, identified as Daniel Njoku a.k.a Agege, Damilare Ogundiran, and Adebayo Olamilekan are said to be members of the dreaded Eiye confraternity, and they forced a 15-year-old girl (name withheld) into their cult group after allegedly raping her.
Confirming the arrest in a statement, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects were arrested on June 30, following a complaint lodged at Ajuwon divisional headquarters by the girl’s mother.

According to the mother, she sent her teenage daughter on an errand in the Akute Odo area but was waylaid on the road by Daniel Njoku, who forcefully took her to his gang at their hideout where the young girl was gang-raped, beaten, and forcefully initiated into Eiye cult group.
The girl’s mother further revealed that her daughter was threatened by the suspects that she will be killed if she told anybody about the incident.

Abimbola said;
”Upon the report, the DPO Ajuwon division, SP Andrew Akinseye detailed his detectives to go after the hoodlums. The team, acting on credible intelligence located the hideout of the group in the Akute Odo area, stormed the place, and succeeded in arresting three members of the gang.
The suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime, they informed the police that they were desperately looking for more members to join their group, especially female members, and that was what prompted them to do what they did.”
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the anti-cultists section of the state criminal investigation department for discreet investigation.
