The State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, who condemned the act said the culprits have been identified, arrested, and detained at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID).

He added that the officers would face disciplinary action in an orderly room trial.

According to initial reports, the victim was returning from a journey on Tuesday when the officers accosted and extorted N60,000 from him via a POS as he could not afford the initial amount they demanded from him.
