The Police Mobile Force (PMF) officers in Kebbi State have stopped a deadly raid by armed bandits in Zodi village, Zuru Local Government Area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar Kotarkoshi, the attack happened on November 29, 2025, when a large number of bandits stormed the community and rustled several livestock.

Upon receiving the alert, the PMF team deployed for “Operation Restore Peace” moved into the area and engaged the attackers in what authorities described as a heavy exchange of gunfire. The response forced the bandits to retreat into the forest with several casualties among them.
The police later conducted a search around the area, recovering 96 cows, 45 sheep and two motorcycles believed to have been stolen during the raid. The livestock have now been handed over to the village head for return to the rightful owners, while the recovered motorcycles have been transferred to the Zuru Division for further investigation.

The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, praised the officers for their courage and rapid response. He urged them to maintain the momentum in the ongoing battle against violent crimes across the state.
In his words: “The bravery and professionalism shown by PMF personnel during this operation is commendable. We remain committed to protecting lives and property in Kebbi State.”
The command also assured residents that efforts to curb banditry and restore security in the region will continue.
