Police Rescue Kidnapped Monarch After 6days of Abduction in Niger

According to the Niger State Police Command, the traditional ruler of Wawa in Borgu Local Government of Niger has been rescued, after spending six days in captivity.

Dr Mahmud Aliyu, the victim, was kidnapped at his palace around 10 p.m. on Sunday by highly armed gunmen.

DSP Wassiu Abiodun, the state’s police spokesperson, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Saturday.

The royal father was rescued on Friday about 19:30 hours, according to Abiodun, after a prolonged effort by the police, military, and vigilante.

Aliyu is undergoing medical treatment at an undisclosed location.
